MIPS-Exempt? Check Online

By now you should have received a letter from Medicare indicating whether or not you are exempt from the new MIPS reporting requirements.  You can now go online to determine whether your physician is exempt from the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System for the 2017 performance period. The 2017 MIPS scores can affect 2019 Medicare payments. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has added a national provider identifier (NPI) lookup tool to its Quality Payment Program website. ICD-10 Grace Period Ends

Meaningful Use Hardship Exception: Deadline July 1, 2015

Eligible professionals who believe they have a valid reason to receive an exception from CMS's Meaningful Use Incentive Program for Electronic Health Records (EHR) must submit an exception application by July 1, 2015  to avoid penalties in 2016. The 2016 Hardship Exception Application and instructions for completing the form can be found at this CMS link.
