Advancing Care Information Hardship Exceptions

Does your practice qualify for a Hardship Exception for a portion of 2017 MIPS scoring?  For those who qualify, CMS is reweighting the Advancing Care Information performance category, currently 25% of your total score, to 0%.  The 25% weighting is then reallocated to the quality performance category which will now be 80% of your score instead of the original 60%.  Examples of those who may qualify are practices that are adopting an electronic health records system (EHR) for the first time, or switching to a new EHR platform.  For more information and to apply for the Hardship Application, please refer to CMS QPP.
